Knights Edge: U14 Rep Readiness Program
Knights Edge is Eastside’s all inclusive six-week Under 14 Rep Readiness Program, designed to help players prepare for representative trials and better understand the team concepts we want to see at U14 level.
As players move into Under 14s, the game starts to become less about simply performing an individual skill and more about understanding when, where and why to use it. Knights Edge gives players the opportunity to work through that next layer before trials begin.
Across the six weeks, the program will focus on areas such as decision-making, creating and using space, offensive and defensive transition, movement, spacing, and understanding individual roles within team play.
The aim is simple: help players learn, grow and arrive at trials better prepared for what comes next.
Knights Edge will be led by David Smith and Francesco Borsatti, supported by EKB coaches involved in the upcoming U14 representative program. Fran brings extensive coaching experience, including semi-professional and professional environments in Argentina, and is currently part of the Brisbane Bullets Academy coaching group.
Program Dates
Sunday 18 October: 11:00am–12:30pm – Chandler

Knights Edge then leads directly into our Under 14 Representative Trials, held across the weekends of 28–29 November and 5–6 December.
The program is open to players who have played representative basketball before, as well as those considering rep for the first time. Its purpose is not to pre-select teams, but to give players the chance to better understand the game, develop the concepts expected at the next level and prepare for the trial process ahead.

Registrations are now open for the 2026/27 Eastside Knights U14 Representative Program for athletes born in 2014 and 2015.
The U14 Representative Program provides athletes with the opportunity to challenge themselves, develop their game and compete as part of the Eastside Knights pathway.
The U14 Representative Program
The program has two key components:
SQJBC Season
Following trials, selected teams will commence pre-season training, with grading beginning in Term 1. The SQJBC season will then run from late Term 1 through Term 2, with finals held at the end of Term 2.
Queensland State Championships
Selected teams will also represent Eastside at the U14 State Championships:
- Girls: 1–4 July 2027 – Sunshine Coast
- Boys: 7–10 July 2027 – Townsville
Please note that while there is no additional State Championships participation fee, families are responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs associated with attending the event. Teams will also be required to participate in fundraising activities to help support the travel and accommodation costs of coaches and team managers.

We are looking for athletes who:
