Meet Your Coach – Bride Kennedy-Hopoate

Bride Kennedy-Hopoate is a 6’3” professional basketball forward from Australia who has played all around the world, competing in top leagues across Australia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Known as a relentless, high-IQ player with a nonstop motor, Bride has built a reputation as a leader on and off the court.

Throughout her career, Bride has:

    • Represented clubs in Australia’s NBL1, the UK Super League Women, and international championships in Mozambique, Egypt, Syria, Tunisia, and Saudi Arabia.

    • Won the Mozambique National Championship (2022) and competed at the African Championship (2023).

    • Captured the NBL1 North Championship in Australia – a career highlight achieved against her former junior club.

    • Played college basketball in the United States at Iowa State University, the University of New Mexico, Hutchinson CC, and Northwest Florida State.

    • Recently starred for Manchester (UK Super League Women) and currently plays for Logan Thunder in Australia’s NBL1 .



Off the court, Bride is passionate about empowering the next generation of female athletes. Her mission is to teach young girls not only the fundamental skills of basketball, but also the importance of mental strength, confidence, healthy routines, and leadership — the very traits that have helped her thrive at the professional level.



At the GIRLS GAME READY Basketball & Mentoring Sessions, Bride will guide athletes through skill development while also leading powerful conversations about:

✅ Handling nerves and performance anxiety

✅ The importance of sleep, recovery, and nutrition

✅ Pre-game routines and preparation

✅ Being a great teammate and leader

✅ Using affirmations and positive self-talk to boost performance

Bride believes that basketball is more than just a game — it’s a tool for growth, resilience, and empowerment. Every girl who attends will leave with new skills, new confidence, and a new mindset to apply both on and off the court.
